The Huawei P20, along with its two variants, may launch in the North American market after all, even if they will still be skipping the United States. Based on information gathered by Android Central, Huawei is planning on bringing the P20, the P20 Lite, and the P20 Pro to Canada and making all of the devices available on a variety of different wireless carriers in the Great North. According to the report, Huawei will launch the handsets on May 17, and they will be available on Fido, Rogers, Bell, Telus, Virgin Mobile, Koodo, and Videotron....

After three seasons, Hulu has canceled its original streaming series The Path, a drama about a religious cult based in New York. Unfortunately, it wasn’t too hard to see the end of The Path coming, as many fans had deemed it a goner well before today’s announcement. Both Gartner and IDC have today released their respective reports on the PC industry during the second quarter of 2019. The two, however, paint different pictures of the industry as a whole, as well as Mac shipments. First off, IDC reports that the PC industry shipped 64.9 million units during Q2 2019, an increase of 4.7 percent year-over-year. This is “notably higher” than IDC was expecting due to “easing of supply shortages....

Less than two weeks after it first unveiled the Bolt for Sprint in the United States, HTC today announced the international version of the handset: the HTC 10 evo. The Snapdragon 810 powered device comes with a 5.5-inch Quad HD SLCD display that is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 and a 3200mAh battery. It also features a unibody metal design that is similar to that of the HTC 10, though it comes with one ace up its sleeve: it is water-resistant....

At the beginning of this month, @evleaks posted a photo of the M8 Ace from HTC. While his tweet did not say anything about the device, rumours started floating around that HTC is planning on releasing a plastic version of its recent flagship — the One (M8) — at a much lower price point to threaten the Samsung Galaxy S5. Now, the folks over at Engadget have received a confirmed tip from one of their reliable sources that the M8 Ace is indeed real and will be coming with a plastic unibody construction....

HTC is currently experiencing a decline and they’re desperately trying everything they can to turn things around. Earlier this month, they introduced a mid-range handset, the Desire 700, that for all intents and purposes is a plastic version of the HTC One, except with horrible specs. IDC has predicted that Chinese brand Huawei will overtake Apple in global market share either this year or next. Huawei is already nipping at Apple’s heels, with an 11.3% share against Apple’s 12% – and IDC believes that a new AI chipset could boost sales of the Chinese brand enough to take the iPhone maker’s current second place in the rankings … The A11 chip in this year’s iPhones includes dedicated AI circuitry, but Huawei claims to have gone one better with a dedicated Neural Processing Unit in the Kirin 970 chip that will power its next-generation phones....

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands marks the eighth edition to the online role-playing game World of Warcraft series from the house of Blizzard Entertainment. The new edition will reveal the Shadowlands, which is a domain solely for all the dead in Warcraft Lore. Shadowlands release is sometime later in 2020. The team at Blizzard provided XP boosts for players in response to being stuck indoors for the COVID-19 pandemic. A report from DigiTimes Research highlights that while smartphone shipments have increased in China by 14.3% on a yearly basis, shipments of high-end smartphones from Apple and Samsung have declined. Local Chinese OEMs like Huawei and Oppo have benefitted the most as their budget Android devices have been doing exceedingly well. The growth of mid-range smartphones in the country has been further fueled by heavy subsidies being offered by three of the largest operators in China....

IDC has just released their second quarter results for tablet and eReader shipments as well as an updated forecast for the remainder of 2011. While Apple continued to dominate with 68.3% of the global market during Q2, IDC expects Apple’s share to fall as vendors bring competitive Android devices to market later this year and early next.
