Beginning September 10, owners of the HTC One (M8) can start to check for over the air (OTA) updates on their device. While the new update isn’t Android 4.4.4, it’s bringing one feature that owners of the handset may be eager to take advantage of. According to HTC’s Mo Versi, who released a tweet about the upcoming update, the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update still start to roll out to One (M8) owners beginning Wednesday, September 10. With the new software owners can expect to find the Extreme Power Savings mode on their handsets, which will allow them to nudge out a few more hours of battery life if they really need it, by shutting off or minimizing other elements of the handset. Unfortunately, no other information was provided in the tweet. However, for the One (M8) owners out there, this should be good news, especially for anyone who has been looking for an easier, more direct way to save a bit more battery life.
