The HTC Desire 200 that we saw in Vietname earlier this week is now officially up on HTC’s website. According to the spec sheet, it has a 3.5 inch HVGA (480 x 320 pixel) screen, 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S1, 512 MB of RAM, 5 megapixel camera, and a 1230 mAh battery.
Curiously, HTC doesn’t specify which version of Android is on the device. They simply say “Android with HTC Sense”. Also interesting, HTC says the Desire 200 has a built-in ad blocker. Here’s the key quote: This phone also has something called “HTC Data Manager”, which looks a lot like the data usage monitor that Google bundles with their OS. Why the rebranding? Your guess is as good as mine. Price and availability? No clue. Sorry. Update: The HTC Desire 200 press release in Taiwan says it costs 4990 New Taiwan Dollars, which comes out to roughly $165.
